POST PRODUCTION SERVICES
HANGMAN's boutique post production services are newly designed and built for 8K workflows and high end finishing. Drawing upon 20 plus years of broadcast post experience we've designed a newer, more simplified and efficient workflow for the new age of broadcast, digital and cinema. From ingest right through to archive, our post services are designed to maximise time working creatively. Post production services fall largely under the following categories.
DI SETUP / TRANSCODING
Every project that comes into HANGMAN is transfered and stored onto optimised, shared storage which allows multiple editors and clients access to the same files from different workstations. Secondary to this, camera rushes are transcoded for OFFLINE to speed up working with large RAW formats to increase the speed of working with footage during editorial. From multi-camera concerts to months of tour rushes the same process is followed to organise, optimise and store a project in-house on industry standard RAID protected shared storage.
OFFLINE EDITING
Multiple editing workstations are located in an open planned day-lit space to allow editors and producers to collaborate on the process of OFFLINE editing. All projects and media is stored on shared storage so single projects can be divided up between multiple editors and timelines can quickly be passed throughout the building. Apple Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere CC are used for editing and DaVinci Resolve can also be used on any edit workstation to prep for the GRADE or MIX.
GRADING / FINISHING
4K, HDR and HD grading within DaVinci Resolve is performed in a dedicated suite. The suite has been designed for experiencing every frame of a project to the highest visual fidelity for mastering to cinema DCP, broadcast and digital outlets. Colour is closely monitored and legalised for broadcast and OFFLINE edit projects can be previewed in the GRADE suite at any stage by opening timelines from the shared storage. Finishing also includes building titles and credits as well as offering bespoke graphics and animations via designers we collaborate with on a project by project basis.
SOUND MIX
We offers in-house sound design, music composition and sound mixing, all to picture. From stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 all mixing is carried out in a dedicated sound proofed suite, also equipped for VO and foley capabilities.
ARCHIVAL
Once projects are finished and delivered all project data, export masters and even the sources rushes can be archived inhouse. Using the industry standard of LTO tape, we can take all these assets and safely archive them for the future. So if new deliveries are required in the future or the entire project requires restoring the options are left open to do this. During ARCHIVAL hard drive masters and back ups are also made for client and delivery versions.
